why should I
Image by Christopher Ross from Pixabay
I repent,
not for my sins,
but the sins of others
who thought
they could
oppress
the divinity of
humanity.
I repent,
unto myself
of the thoughtless
deeds,
and words,
infectious and
invasive like a virus,
that I beheld upon others.
I repent,
for the damage
I’ve inflicted upon myself
under the falsity of
force-fed beliefs
for which my heart
rebelled in its
intuitive wisdom.
I repent,
for the selfishness
of standing up for
my needs
in a home
of broken souls,
begging for light
and love
and redemption.
Finally,
why should I repent?
Instead,
I choose
to boldly stand
for all the colors,
light or dark,
revolving hues
that shine in varying
vibrations,
encompassing
all that
which I am.
